RotoViz staff and writers join with the rest of the NFL community in praying for Damar Hamlin. His Chasing M’s Foundation, originally established to fund children’s initiatives like toy drives and kid camps, is one of many examples of Hamlin’s generosity and spirit. The go-fund-me campaign has now raised over $7 million. You can contribute here.

If you want to improve at DFS, you need to find the types of contests that allow you to have success and continue to play mainly in those. This enables you not only to have a greater chance of success each week but also to improve in identifying contest specific dynamics and trends.

I am a lower-stakes, small-field tournament player. I do not play cash games, and I do not play large-field GPP contests unless I am just tossing in an entry for fun. The contests I am playing in typically have 60 entrants or fewer. These contests are my favorite because you do not need to get as many things right to get near the top of the leaderboard. Finding the right stacks in small fields is a great example of this. Most people do not stack enough in these types of contests. Finding the right stacks and leverage points is a great way to vault up to the top of the leaderboard.

Each week I will post my favorite stacks of the week, especially those that are likely to be overlooked in the small-field tournaments. I’ll also provide my results from the prior week and talk about what went right, what went wrong, and most importantly, what we can we learn.

This was a low-scoring week in small field contests with so much chalk busting. I was only 27 points behind first place with six players scoring less than 12 points. I went back and forth between the Jets stack and the Bucs stack. I wanted to fit Justin Jefferson and Travis Kelce into the lineup while being able to get in a stack. In hindsight I probably should not have been prioritizing that with both those players being on the chalkier side. Although, I was one of only two teams in the top-10 with Jefferson in my lineup. So, a decent Jefferson game could have given me a shot at cashing in this contest.

I have now entered 15 main slate contests at a $27 price point in fields with less than 100 entries. More recently I have been playing in 21-entry fields. I have cashed in seven of those 14 contests and returned a profit of $540 so far this season. Writing this article has really helped me develop as a small-field tournament player and I hope it has helped you.

On to the Week 18 stacks!

WEEK 18 DFS IS A DIFFERENT BEAST

There is a reason most of your season-long leagues do not have fantasy matchups the last week of the season. Week 18 we see teams divvying up playing time different than they normally would for a few reasons. This leads to more fragile chalk plays. Players who have not got much playing time all seasons are projecting to play heavy snaps. This is a week to not get set on a build or a team until we have all the news, which most likely will not come until Sunday morning 11:30 a.m. Eastern time.
