When sharp rankers, analysts, and fantasy players have players higher or lower in the RotoViz ranks, we should take notice. Last time, we looked at running backs that sat higher or lower on the RotoViz ranks versus FFPC ADP. We shouldn’t follow blindly, but it leads us to challenge or validate our thoughts and research. If anything, it’s a starting point to evaluate whether these players could be ones to avoid or potential values. In this article, we’ll move to wide receivers and compare the RotoViz ranks to assess the pros and cons.

Note that we’re looking at consensus rankings for this exercise. Individual rankers may have players higher or lower than consensus, so it’s worth exploring the RotoViz rankings for yourself.

RotoViz Ranks – Two Receiver Fades

Michael Pittman Jr.

After a breakout in Year 2, Michael Pittman ranked as WR27 in PPR/G with a decent 12.9 EP/G (No. 23). Pittman ranked highly in WOPR (No. 15) with a 26% target share (No. 12) and 33% air yards share (No. 20).

Last season, Pittman garnered WR2 and borderline WR1 opportunities in some contests with a target share north of 30% in six games. Meanwhile, he has an FFPC ADP of a WR1. Among receivers with 200 routes, Pittman ranked 24th with 2.14 yards per route run, tied with Chris Godwin.

How does Carson Wentz compare to the aging Matt Ryan? Among quarterbacks with 200 pass attempts, Wentz ranked 13th with 6.5 adjusted yards per attempt. Ryan ranked 18th with 5.9 AY/A. If we go back to 2019 to 2021, Wentz and Ryan have peak seasons with an identical 6.5 AY/A.
